RECOMENDACIONES DE IFLG para PADRES INTENDIDOS a través de A.R.T.,

SUSTITUTAS, DONANTES Y Programas de Reproducción Asistida

A medida que la nueva enfermedad coronavirus (COVID-19) se extiende por todo el mundo y por todo los Estados Unidos, nuestra comunidad profesional y los encargados de formular políticas, los padres intendidos, donantes, las sustitutas, las agencias de reproducción y el público en general están buscando asesoramiento sobre cómo aquellos que están en proceso o planificando el tratamiento de la infertilidad deben proceder a la luz de las prohibiciones de viaje relacionadas con COVID-19 y otros avisos de salud pública.

Las restricciones de viaje y los períodos de cuarentena de COVID-19 podrían impedir que los PADRES INTENDIDOS que utilicen una sistituta se unan a su recién nacido en una manera oportuna. En consecuencia, alentamos encarecidamente a todos los padres y profesionales legales, organizaciones y programas que faciliten estos arreglos a tomar rápidamente las medidas necesarias para identificar a las familias que pueden verse afectadas y desarrollar contingencias.

Esas mismas restricciones de viaje y cuarentena pueden causar retrasos en los examenes médicos y procedimientos médicos para las SUSTITUTAS Y DONANTES.

Algunas prohibiciones de viaje emitidas por los gobiernos federal, estatal y local pueden permitir excepciones para aquellos con familiares inmediatos en la zona afectada de viaje. Asimismo, la Orden Ejecutiva Presidencial de los Estados Unidos (actualizada el 11 de marzo de 2020) establece que la prohibición de viajar NO se aplicará a ningún extranjero no residente que sea el padre o tutor legal o hermano de un ciudadano de los Estados Unidos, o residente permanente legal.  Por lo tanto, IFLG estará encantado de redactar una carta para nuestros clientes explicando la necesidad de viaje, como los padres intentidos que necesitan viajar para estar presentes para el nacimiento de su hijo.  Sin embargo, tenga en cuenta que tales cartas no garantizan la capacidad de viajar, ya que las órdenes ejecutivas y otras órdenes gubernamentales en esta situación pueden estar sujetas a cambios sin previo aviso.

Los padres intentidos también pueden considerar viajar antes si esto es factible.

Los planes de contingencia para los padres intentidos también deben incluir el establecimiento de tutores legales temporales, o documentos de poder legal, que designen a otro adulto responsable para cuidar a su hijo/hijos al nacer, si los padres intentidos están infectados o estan restrictidos de viajar. Se recomienda encarecidamente a los padres intentidos que confirmen con sus tutores designados que están listos, dispuestos y disponibles (y que no se ven afectados por tales prohibiciones de viaje).  Si los padres previstos no han ejecutado tales documentos, o si dichos documentos han sido ejecutados pero necesitan ser actualizados por cualquier motivo (incluyendo la falta de disponibilidad de la(s) persona(s) de respaldo originalmente seleccionada(s), comuníquese con IFLG para discutir la participación de nosotros para este servicio .

Para aquellos que se han infectado con este nuevo coronavirus, los síntomas han oscilado entre leves y graves. Los signos y síntomas de la infección incluyen fiebre, tos y dificultad para respirar. El virus ha causado enfermedades graves y la muerte en pacientes que desarrollaron neumonía. Los factores de riesgo de enfermedad grave aún no están claros, aunque los adultos mayores y las personas de cualquier edad con enfermedades crónicas graves tienen un mayor riesgo de padecer una enfermedad grave.

La CDC recomiendan evitar los viajes que no son esenciales.

Si debe viajar:

  • Evite el contacto con personas enfermas.
  • Lávese las manos a menudo con agua y jabón durante al menos de 20 segundos. Si el agua y el jabón no están disponibles fácilmente, use un desinfectante de manos a base de alcohol que contenga al menos 60% de alcohol.
  • Es especialmente importante limpiar las manos después de ir al baño; antes de comer; y después de toser, estornudar o sonarse la nariz.
  • Evite viajar si está enfermo.

Si ha pasado tiempo en una zona de ALTO RIESGO DE COVID-19 durante los últimos 14 días:

  • Quédate en casa durante 14 días desde el momento en que regresas, monitorea tu salud y practica el distanciamiento social. El distanciamiento social significa mantenerse fuera de lugares concurridos, evitar las reuniones en grupo y mantener la distancia (aproximadamente 6 pies o 2 metros) de otros cuando sea posible.   • Finalmente, use un desinfectante de manos a base de alcohol que contenga al menos 60% de alcohol. Se debe usar jabón y agua si las manos están visiblemente sucias.

Peiya moved to the United States in 2012 to attend Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, receiving a Master of Science degree in Global Studies and International Affairs in 2014. Peiya moved to Los Angeles in 2015, received her paralegal certification from UCLA Extension, and obtained her second Master of Science degree in Legal Studies from Loyola Law School. Peiya relocated back to her hometown, Beijing, China in 2019 and works from IFLG’s Beijing office. When away from the office, Peiya is a dragon boat paddler and a ballroom dancer, where she favors Rumbas and Cha-chas. She is fluent in Mandarin and English.

Luis R. Sosa joined IFLG as a paralegal in 2016, where he enjoys pursuing his passion for family and reproductive law. While working toward his bachelor’s degree at Florida International University which he received in 2013, Luis worked as a paralegal and legal assistant for family law litigation firms in Miami and Washington, D.C. As a paralegal and case manager for IFLG, Luis, who is bilingual in English and Spanish, manages surrogacy, egg donation and other reproductive law cases. Luis has worked for IFLG in both Los Angeles as well as San Francisco, and is currently based in Dallas, Texas.
