Attorney Rich Vaughn combined his personal passion as a father of twin boys born via assisted reproductive technology (ART) with more than 20 years of experience in business and technology law to build International Fertility Law Group. Today IFLG is one of the most successful and best-known law firms in the world focused exclusively on fertility law, helping thousands of intended parents through empathetic listening, compassionate guidance, and unmatched legal expertise. As an advocate for reproductive freedom, Rich also contributes his knowledge and time to improving the understanding and practice of ART law, most recently as a founder of and speaker at the first Cambridge University International Surrogacy Symposium held in June 2019, as immediate past chair of the American Bar Association ART Committee, and as a popular presenter to law schools, faculty and advocacy organizations all over the world.

This passion took root during his 11-year tenure as the Executive Director of The American Fertility Association (The AFA), where he played a pivotal role in advocating for and supporting individuals and couples seeking reproductive assistance.

Lori Meyers has practiced exclusively in reproductive law for over 28 years. Lori has traveled extensively and spoken internationally to bring information regarding surrogacy to thousands of families from all over the world.

Molly O’Brien, Esq.
Partner
Fertility law attorney Molly O’Brien began working in the field of assisted reproduction technology (ART) in 2005, at an egg donation agency and a surrogacy agency where she became familiar with all aspects of in-vitro fertilization, egg donation and the financial aspects of surrogacy. Since becoming an attorney in 2011, Molly has drafted and negotiated surrogacy, egg donation, sperm donation embryo donation agreements for hundreds of her clients all over the world.

Phoebe S. Sadler, Esq.

Fertility law attorney Phoebe Sadler has a background in family law and has been practicing exclusively in the area of assisted reproduction technology (ART) law since 2018.

Julia Robinson, Esq.
Attorney
Julia T. Robinson is a California-licensed attorney whose practice at IFLG focuses on surrogacy, egg donation, sperm donation, and embryo donation agreements. She supports both domestic and international clients, ensuring legal clarity and compassionate guidance throughout their family-building journeys.
Prior to joining IFLG, Julia served as a litigation law clerk, gaining extensive experience in complex civil matters including pharmaceutical torts, wrongful death, and medical malpractice. She also contributed to access-to-justice research as a legal assistant at Duquesne University and supported pro bono clients in family law matters.
Julia earned her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law and graduated summa cum laude from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with degrees in Criminology and Pre-Law.

Rachael Sandifer, Esq.

As a San Diego native, Rachael received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Public Administration from San Diego State University and Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law. In law school, Rachael obtained a Concentration in Child, Family & Elder Law and co-founded the organization, Children's Advocacy Law Society. During law school, she served as an Intern for San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, assisting in high conflict child custody, visitation, and domestic violence cases.
Since obtaining her license, Rachael has worked exclusively in assisted reproduction technology (ART). She takes great pride and joy in helping clients navigate the intricacies of ART, simplifying the process, and ensuring they feel reassured and supported along the way. Rachael previously served as a Committee Chair for the American Bar Association, Section of Family Law.

Jessica Junyent
Senior Associate
A native of Spain, Jessica brings a rare blend of global fluency and human-centered advocacy to her work in assisted reproductive technology (ART). She earned her law degree with high honors (Matrícula de Honor) from the University of Barcelona Faculty of Law and was admitted to the Barcelona Bar Association in 1995. Early in her career, she gained experience in civil litigation, contributing to cases involving complex contract disputes, liability claims, and family law matters. That foundation continues to inform her clear-eyed approach to negotiation and strategy.
Over her career, Jessica has held senior leadership roles within the ART field, cultivating trusted partnerships with IVF clinics and legal professionals across Europe, Canada, and Latin America. She provides multilingual, culturally attuned support to international clients, particularly those navigating language barriers, ensuring clarity and confidence at every stage.
Her expertise in international legal systems was further enriched through advanced study at The Hague Academy of International Law, held at the Peace Palace in the Netherlands.
A frequent international speaker, Jessica has helped countless families better understand the landscape of U.S. surrogacy. She is fluent in English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Catalan, with working proficiency in Portuguese. Her professional acumen is complemented by a master’s degree in spiritual psychology, which deepens her capacity for thoughtful, compassionate client care.

Toni Boone
Managing Paralegal
After receiving her B.S. in Business Management, Toni joined IFLG to pursue her dream of working in the legal field. As a Paralegal with over 10 years of experience in the assisted reproduction technology field, Toni is our Managing Paralegal, responsible for training and managing our paralegal staff. From drafting legal documents to assisting our clients with post-birth matters, Toni embraces the challenge of learning something new in this field each day. Besides spending time with her son, Jordan, Toni enjoys exploring new things, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and serving as a Youth Advisor for “Next Generation.”

Kim Letzkus
Senior Paralegal
Kim has over 30 years of experience in the legal field and has worked exclusively in surrogacy and assisted reproduction law since 1999. Kim is a senior case manager responsible for managing parental establishment cases and interacting with IFLG’s Of Counsel attorneys across the country. With three children of her own, Kim understands the importance of family and finds working in this area of law a rewarding experience.

Cara Stecker
Senior Paralegal
After receiving her paralegal certificate in 2005, Cara began working in assisted reproductive law. During the fifteen years Cara has worked in this field, she has gained a wide range of experience and knowledge that she uses to help better assist clients and those involved in the assisted reproductive journey. Cara’s primary roles involve managing parental establishment matters and coordination with IFLG’s Of Counsel attorney network, drafting contracts and parental establishment court documents and providing support to other team members. Cara finds great joy in being a small part of a team of caring people who help others achieve their dream of having a family. In her spare time, Cara enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, watching her children play the sports they love, and she enjoys, running, cycling and exploring the outdoors in the sun.

Katie Deaquino
Senior Paralegal
Katie is a Senior Paralegal with IFLG and has dedicated over sixteen years to the areas of surrogacy and reproductive law. She received her Paralegal Certificate from Coastline Community College and has worked with some of the top law firms in the assisted reproduction community. Katie is also a commissioned Notary Public. With IFLG, Katie manages Surrogacy, Egg Donation, and Parental Establishment cases and provides support to other IFLG team members. Katie truly enjoys helping others build their families through assisted reproduction and is thankful she has had the rewarding experience of assisting IFLG clients. Katie often spends her free time with her Husband, four young children and her bulldog “Bella”.

Peiya Wang (王培娅)
Paralegal (律师助理)
Peiya Wang joined IFLG as a paralegal in 2015, where she manages surrogacy, egg donation and parental establishment cases and provides translation services for many of IFLG’s international clients. Peiya moved to the United States in 2012 to attend Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, receiving a Master of Science degree in Global Studies and International Affairs in 2014. Peiya moved to Los Angeles in 2015, received her paralegal certification from UCLA Extension, and obtained her second Master of Science degree in Legal Studies from Loyola Law School. Peiya relocated back to her hometown, Beijing, China in 2019 and works from IFLG’s Beijing office. When away from the office, Peiya is a dragon boat paddler and a ballroom dancer, where she favors Rumbas and Cha-chas. She is fluent in Mandarin and English.

Rubina has an extensive background in the legal field as a paralegal in Family Law and has worked in surrogacy and assisted reproduction law since 2012. Her area of focus is in managing and assisting clients with surrogacy, egg donation, and parental establishment cases for many of IFLG’s domestic and international clients. During her spare time, Rubina enjoys spending time with her family and dog Bella, traveling and cooking.

Polly May
Paralegal
Polly is a Paralegal who serves as Executive Assistant to Founding Partner, Richard Vaughn and manages intake. She brings years of experience in both the corporate world as photographic sales coordinator for the National Football League, and as a small business owner of a hair salon. In the latter role, Polly facilitated the “Look Good Feel Better” program for the American Cancer Society, providing support to over 800 women in treatment for cancer.
In her previous roles, Polly learned the importance of self-sufficiency and teamwork, and she developed an attention to detail that helps her to provide extraordinary customer service as the first point of contact for many of IFLG’s prospective clients.
She lives in Southern California with her husband, Tim, and their pup, Cosmo. Polly loves tackling home projects that range from house painting to tiling bathrooms. She is an avid cook and baker, and her pies have become a “must have” at IFLG potlucks!

Meghan Roche

Meghan has an extensive background in the legal field as a paralegal in Family Law and began working in the area of assisted reproductive technology (ART) in 2017. She is excited to be part of IFLG, pursuing her passion for helping people grow their families. Her area of focus is in managing Surrogacy and Egg donation matters. In her spare time Meghan enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and their dog, traveling, and being outdoors.

Zenayda Ruiz

Zenayda has 21 years of experience in the legal field, exclusively in Reproductive Law since 2019. As a bilingual paralegal and case manager for IFLG, she manages surrogacy, egg donation and parental establishment cases. In her free time, Zenayda is an active competitor in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Andrea Thong
Paralegal
After earning her BA in 2008, Andrea spent most of her career in the real estate industry. However, a longstanding interest in fertility law inspired a career change. To pursue this new direction, Andrea earned a paralegal certification from UC Berkeley and joined IFLG in 2023. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and reading.

Kate joined IFLG as a Case Manager in 2024, where she works on Surrogacy and Egg Donation Cases. She is thrilled to be working in an industry that does so much to support and advance Women’s Reproductive rights and the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking with friends, and playing poker.”

Chatima joined IFLG in 2024 as a Paralegal, focusing on parental establishment matters. She has an extensive background in Case Management and started working in the legal field after receiving her paralegal certificate from the University of Georgia in 2019. Chatima began working in the ART field in 2022 as a Paralegal at a surrogacy agency. After completing her own journey as a surrogate, she has been passionate about helping to build families through assisted reproduction. In her spare time, she enjoys attending baseball games, traveling, and spending time with her husband and three children.

Brittney T. Wells
Paralegal
Brittney joins IFLG as a paralegal and is excited to pursue her passion for family and reproductive law. She brings nearly 20 years of experience in the legal industry, starting as a runner in a law firm and progressing through various positions before earning her paralegal studies degree in 2019. Additionally, she holds two degrees in criminal justice. In her spare time, Brittney enjoys spending time with her husband, Dan, their two children, and two dogs, as well as camping in the beautiful outdoors of Wyoming, crafting, and growing her nonprofit.

Casey Oakley
Paralegal
Casey joined IFLG in 2025 as a Paralegal, focusing on parental establishment matters. She has a BS in criminology and served the State of Virginia as a Special Agent. She found her way into third party reproduction as a case manager for a surrogacy agency and through her experience as a two-time surrogate. She completed her paralegal certificate program through George Mason University in 2024. Casey enjoys educating people about surrogacy. She was featured in an Italian publication regarding her experience as a surrogate and has attended several national surrogacy conferences. She also attends many human rights events. In her free time, you can find Casey at the lake with her spouse and two boys or cuddled up reading a good book with her 4 dogs.

Ben Tichy
Paralegal
Ben brings creative problem-solving and compassionate advocacy to his work as a paralegal specializing in reproductive law. After earning his degree in musical theater and working in the performing arts, Ben transitioned to the legal field in 2019, where he discovered his passion for helping individuals and couples navigate family-building law.
Ben assists with drafting legal documents, coordinating surrogacy arrangements, and ensuring compliance with reproductive law requirements. His background in the arts brings strong communication skills and attention to detail to complex legal challenges. As the fifth of six children, Ben understands family dynamics and is committed to making the legal aspects of family formation as clear and stress-free as possible for clients.
When not in the office, Ben enjoys theater and travel, experiences that continue to inform his compassionate approach to helping others build their families.

Melissa McNeillie
Case Manager
Melissa has over 10 years of experience in the field of assisted reproduction, with areas of focus in management of trust accounts and assisting clients with both agency managed and independent egg donor and surrogacy journeys. Melissa has also been an egg donor three times over and is immensely grateful to be able to help intended parents achieve their dreams of growing their families, both personally and professionally. Besides caring for her senior dog, Piper, Melissa spends her free time walking in Central Park, exploring the city, cooking, baking, and finding any excuse to be outdoors.

Christi Howard
Case Manager
Christi joined the IFLG team as a Case Manager in 2023. She has 14 years of experience in both adult criminal law as well as juvenile law and is incredibly grateful to be expanding her knowledge base by learning fertility law, as it relates to assisted reproduction. Christi is a two-time surrogate and has a deep passion for helping others. She is excited for the opportunity to continue the rewarding experience of helping intended parents achieve their dreams of growing their families, in a completely different capacity. Christi is also a Certified Massage Therapist and in her free time she enjoys being with her family, watching live theater, traveling, and trying new activities such as scuba diving.

Vanessa Bowman
Case Manager
Vanessa joined the IFLG team as a Case Manager in 2024. She has over a decade of experience in both Case Management and Accounting. Her passion for helping build families through Surrogacy began 9 years ago when she became a Surrogate herself. Ever since, she has remained very active in the community advocating for Intended Parents and Surrogates on this beautiful journey. She is excited to continue that passion by expanding her knowledge in fertility law and helping Intended Parents on their journey to parenthood. In her free time, Vanessa enjoys exploring the beauty of the PNW with her family and 3 dogs.

Christa Wensel
Case Manager
Christa brings over nine years of experience in the fertility industry, specializing in supporting both donors and intended parents throughout their journeys. She has a deep appreciation for the opportunity to help build families and guide individuals through this meaningful process. Previously, Christa served as the Director of Donor Programs at a prominent surrogacy and donor agency. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is a licensed Social Worker in the state of West Virginia. Outside of her professional endeavors, Christa enjoys spending quality time with her family and their beloved dog, Bella.

Lisa Wippler
Case Manager
Lisa brings a unique perspective to the legal side of family building, with over 30 years of experience in the agency world. A former Marine and surrogate, she transitioned to the legal field driven by a deep interest in law and its role in family creation. Lisa's career has been marked by a passion for supporting families on their journey, and she now applies her extensive background to navigate the legal complexities of fertility law.
Outside of work, Lisa enjoys life on her 14-acre hobby farm near the Georgia/Tennessee border, where she and her husband of 33 years raise a variety of animals. Together, they are proud parents to two grown sons and three wonderful grandchildren.

Alex Espinoza
Legal Assistant
Alexander joined IFLG as a legal assistant in 2019, where he manages surrogacy, egg donation and parental establishment cases. Alex is bilingual in English and Spanish and has been in the legal field for 23 years. Alex is excited to join the IFLG team and pursuing his will to help others in the reproductive law process. In his spare time he loves spending time with his family and friends, being outdoors, road trips, loves music and dancing.

Fayaz joined IFLG in 2023 as a legal assistant where he plays a key role in managing surrogacy, egg donation, and parental establishment cases. Fayaz who is bilingual in English and Farsi is committed to guiding domestic and international clients through legal processes with professionalism and care. He is an integral part of the IFLG team. In his personal time, Fayaz enjoys outdoor activities, including soccer, working out at the gym, and spending time at the beach.

Trish Pittman
Assistant Financial Coordinator
With more than 20 years of experience in the field of accounting, Trish joined the IFLG team in 2019 as Assistant Financial Coordinator. Her client-facing focus at IFLG is to assist with all client trust accounting. Trish is the mother of two daughters and enjoys spending time teaching and learning new things from them. In her free time, she loves long walks in the park and reading suspense and mystery novels.
