17 Apr 2013 AFA Illuminations Honors Elton John, The New Normal
As a member of the American Fertility Association’s board of directors, I’m very proud to have been part of Illuminations LA 2013 on April 13. The event honored Elton John and the NBC sitcom The New Normal. (Visit IFLG on Facebook for more photos of the event.)
The American Fertility Association (AFA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization committed to helping provide all prospective parents with a personalized pathway to having a baby. The organization produces two Illuminations events in Los Angeles and New York every year through which champions who have helped raise visibility and advance the cause of family formation via ART and adoption are honored. The events also raise funds for programs such as infertility prevention, fertility preservation, men’s reproductive health, assistance for couples having difficulty in conceiving, and outreach to the LGBT community. The AFA provides a wealth of resources free of charge, including education and outreach events, online video library, resource directory, phone and in-person coaching and a toll-free support line.
As someone fortunate enough to work every day with intended parents willing to make enormous sacrifices in order to have families, I’m very proud of the work The AFA does to help make the benefits of this amazing technology more accessible to everyone.
